Karnataka Declares Holiday Tomorrow to Mourn S.M. Krishna’s Demise
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced a government holiday in Karnataka tomorrow (December 11, Wednesday) as a mark of respect for the late former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna. Additionally, the state will observe three days of mourning to honor his legacy.
S.M. Krishna’s mortal remains will be kept at his Bengaluru residence until 8 AM tomorrow, allowing the public to pay their last respects. Afterward, the body will be taken to Maddur, where people can pay homage until 3 PM. The final rites will be conducted later in the day, Shivakumar said.
He also clarified to the reporters that all schools and colleges will remain closed, and there will be government programmes for next three days.
